Relax and enjoy time on the water
Stand up paddle-boarding in Peru is nothing new. 3000 years ago Peruvian fishermen were riding the waves on small reed platforms known as “Caballos de Totora”. Literally “reed horse”. Amazonas Explorer has the world’s highest stand up paddleboard fleet, here in Cusco, 3500m or 11,000 feet higher than this addictive sport’s humble origins. If you have ever wanted to try it out, then this half day Cusco tour is a great opportunity.
You start the day with a full instruction in the art of stand-up paddle boarding, before practicing your new skills on a beautiful lake. It is really easy to learn and soon you will be gliding serenely across the emerald green lake, all under the watchful eyes of your expert stand up paddle guide.
Enjoy amazed looks from local farmers, spot rare birds in the reeds around the lake and relax, enjoy the quiet and take in the stunning Andean scenery.
After a couple of hours of paddling and hopefully mastering this fun sport, you can enjoy some snacks before carrying on to your next destination.
Included: snacks & water, transport, all water & safety equipment
Add 40 U$ if Sacred Valley pick up is required
We believe the landscape of Peru is as much a wonder of the world as Machu Picchu. We help people experience it and hope it inspires them to love and protect our wild places.
