10 reasons for adventure travel in Peru

Aside from the fact we love it personally, we believe adventure travel in Peru can elevate a holiday or tour to something altogether more exciting and memorable. Traditional tourism can be pretty passive, you are a bystander, an outsider looking in, visiting, listening, watching.  With adventure travel, you have to participate, to engage fully both mentally and physically. You have to be present in the moment (ever tried riding a bike while answering emails?).

We believe our Peru adventure travel can:

1. Immerse yourself in beauty- we all feel better surrounded by beauty than noise and chaos, right?

While there is nothing wrong with a city break, there is an undeniable sense of peace that comes with being truly off the grid, with true adventure travel in Peru. Personally, the peace I feel on the first night of a two-day rafting trip, camping on a beach at the bottom of a canyon watching the milky way present itself as the night sets in is something truly unique and calming to the soul.

2. Give you moments of silence- when was the last time you were somewhere completely quiet?

There is truly nothing like arriving at a ruin after a long hike or bike ride and hearing the absolute peace of crushing silence. True adventure leads you away from the crowds, away from the cities, the noise, the cars, and into nothing. It’s just another reason why we love adventure travel in Peru.

3. Create headspace- by cutting out the distractions, you have time to reflect on what actually matters

So often these days people are swallowed by distractions. I am just as guilty as anyone else- I often choose to spend my evenings looking at my phone or watching something on TV- but if I use the weekends to get out of my routine and get out of my own head, I can feel my life improve dramatically. Adventure travel is a great way to do this- and Peru has so many options I will never have to do it twice.

4. Break down barriers

It does not matter who you are back home when you take on adventure travel in Peru, how important your job is, how big your house is, or how expensive your makeup is. No one looks very flattering in trekking pants or bike helmets plastered in sunblock and insect repellent. Adventure travel in Peru is a great leveler. It’s also a great opportunity for you to be able to escape the person you created for your neighbors, and exist as an authentic you.

5. Build trust and memories with your family and friends

If go out with someone into the mountains, you will soon know what they are really like, who you can rely on, and who you cannot. You will go places that you never thought you would and create incredible memories together. Every weekend can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience if you work at it- but an adventure travel experience in Peru? It can be some of the best moments of your life.

6. Challenge yourself

Put simply, you don’t know what you are capable of till you try (or what your kids, partner, or friends are capable of). Why not push yourself and find out? Peru is surely an ideal place to break out of your comfort zone and really experience what life is about.

7. Takes you to stunning natural places

While many people have visited beautiful places, it takes a true nature lover to want to protect them as we do. We need people to see these places so that they care enough to want to protect them. So get out here and see what all the fuss is about!

8. Help you feel healthier

If you are already planning of visiting Peru, you’ve probably heard that it is famous for its food, and it is big. Really big. You’ll probably spend a reasonable amount of time sitting on buses and eating, so why not balance it out with a little adventure travel?

9. Adventure Travel in Peru will make you laugh and smile- and we all need more of that

Enough said. Life can be hard, and if a little adventure travel, while you’re in Peru, brings a smile to your face then really, there’s nothing that you can complain about hey?
