On two wheels, Peru opens up in a whole new way. Mountain biking with Amazonas Explorer means following dirt tracks through farming valleys, coasting past ancient terraces, and feeling the rush of descents framed by snowcapped peaks. Every bend in the trail reveals another snapshot of Andean life—shepherds with their flocks, children waving from adobe doorways, and ruins perched on impossible ridgelines.
For those who want the ride without worrying about altitude or endurance, e-bikes make the Andes more accessible than ever. With the gentle push of pedal-assist, climbs become manageable and long days in the saddle turn into pure enjoyment. It’s the same landscapes, the same immersion—just with a little more energy left to take it all in.
Whether you’re a seasoned rider chasing singletrack or a curious traveler eager to try something new, our guides adapt each route to suit your level. With top-quality bikes, full support, and flexible itineraries, biking in Peru isn’t just about the ride—it’s about the freedom to explore more, see more, and connect more deeply with the Sacred Valley and beyond.
Of all the days we spend in Peru, including the beauty of Machu Picchu, we most fondly remember the 3 days of adventure between Cuzco and Puerto Maldonado! When we met other travelers and Peruvian people afterward and told them about our trip they were looking at us as if we were aliens; most of them never heard of a trip like this, but they all were impressed and it always gave us a good conversation! We hope that Carlos and Edgar made it back safely and sound to Cuzco after your farewell drink in Wasai Lodge. Please pass them our fond memories and mucho mucho thanks. We cannot express how much we enjoyed it! And thank you all for a well-organized trip. Hope we have a chance to come back one day to enjoy more!
